전 세계 재난사태로 고강도 사회적 거리두기가 계속되고 있는 상황에서, 서울에서 예술가로 활동하고 있고, Thunder comics를 운영하고 있는 정은지와 독일에서 온 퍼포먼스 예술가 Dirk Thorwarth가 서울문화재단의 지원을 받고 퍼포먼스 아트, 만화 제작을 합니다. 1.5 m의 젓가락으로 럭키코인 나누어주기, 라이브 스트리밍으로 많은 사람들과 예술활동 공유하기, 만화그리기가 우리의 목적입니다.

In a situation of pandemic continues to keep the high social distance, Eunji Jung, Korean artist and Attache des Arts a.k.a Dirk Thorwarth, performance artist from Germany did a common art project in Seoul (South-Korea). Their theme is to share lucky coins with 1,5m chopsticks and to share this activities with people through live streaming and comics.
The project is started from a contest finding [various methods] to create art in pandemic by artists based in Seoul. It is selected and supported by Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture.

사회적 거리두기대신 신체적 거리두기 운동
Physical distancing movement, rather than social distancing
악수하기, 손 맞잡기, 무언가를 건내주기. 디아크는 신체적 거리를 유지하되 정서적으로 다가갈 방법을 고민하다가, 불특정 사람들에게 손으로 럭키코인을 나눠주는 대신 젓가락으로 나눠 줄 방법을 생각했습니다. 사람들과 2m의 거리를 유지하며 1.5m 의 젓가락으로 일상을 살아가는 사람들에 작지만 긍정적인 예술 활동에 동참 시키고자 합니다. 충분한 신체적 거리두기로 불안감을 느끼지 않으면서, “행운"을 우리가 마주치는 모든 사람들에게 나눠주길 희망합니다. 코로나 사태라는 힘든 시간 속에서, 그들이 럭키코인을 받을때 오게 될 멋진 미래와 짓게 될 웃음을 기대합니다.

Instead of giving out lucky coins by hand to people as before, he thought the way to hand over the lucky coin with chopsticks long as possible in pandemic. We want to participate people in small but positive art activities who live a daily life in this pandemic. Using 1,5m long chopsticks while maintaining a distance between the artist face and people, they don’t have to be feel anxious with enough physical distance. We wish a “Good luck“ to all, hope people are getting best for the future and have a smile, especially in the hard time of COVID19.

만화를 그리고, 대학에서 만화를 가르치고 있는 정은지는 전세계 재난사태로 인해 온라인 강의를 시작하고, 작품을 온라인으로 판매할 준비를 하고 있습니다. 많은 것이 바뀌었고, 앞으로 많은것이 바뀌리라 믿습니다. 이러한 상황에서 다른 사람들은 어떻게 바뀌어가고 있는지 상상하며 만화를 그립니다. 퍼포먼스가 현재, 지금, 바로 여기를 보여줄 수 있는 미디움이라면 만화는 앞으로의 가능성에 대해 이야기하고, 사람들의 생각들을 표현할 수 있는 매체라고 생각합니다.

Performance art might be a medium able to illustrate present and right here, comics could be a method to talk about possibilities in future or expression of how people are thinking after all the time passing.
